In this moment, I close my eyes and think about peace. My mind weaves together different thoughts that drop out:
Peace is a home where there is laughter, cuddling, and quiet moments of just feeling good about all that is around.
Peace is getting lost in the lyrics of song.
Peace is teenagers who do what they are asked when they are asked.
Peace is a workplace that respects individuals, creativity, and contributions.
Peace is an expansive prairie with a light breeze and a slight smell of a spring rain.
Peace is the clean, quiet scene after a major blizzard. All outside looks crisp, clear, and pure.
Peace is a conversation that makes you think.
Peace is holding hands and just walking deep in thought and comfort, knowing there is nothing we cannot do and all is okay.
Peace is being accepted for who we are while be challenged on how we can be better.
Peace is feeling comfort yet never being completely comfortable with things just being good enough.
Peace is a soulful feeling that we are making a difference in what we do.
Peace is being lost in thought.
Peace is silence in a chaotic swirl of activity.
Peace can be two-faced. It is calm yet stirs our soul with inspiration. Peace lowers barriers while strengthens our inner spirit. Peace can be a dying breath and living fully. Peace unclutters and encumbers.
Peace. A simple word filled with complexity and meaning.
In a world defined by quick hits of delight, peace has longevity… more challenging and rewarding.
Peace is the lack of conflict. Peace is acting for thee Common Good. Peace is full trust. Peace is sharing equally. Peace is hard.
Agree. Peace is difficult to achieve but necessary work.
To counteract the line that said Peace is teenagers who do what they’re asked and when they’re asked, according to me, Peace is is the absence of coercion and pressure on teenagers bc of adults who fail to realize the differences in their teenhood and the current world.
peace is when you know the reasons for being told to do something
and having the choice to accept or reject it because you’re an individual and will have ideas and beliefs that differ from your parents or other adults. Peace is room for diverse opinions and accomodating them without forcing one opinion over other.
Thank you!
Well said. Thank you.
Peace is something much bigger than the absence of war, it is the togetherness without any violence and conflicts. It is a great gift by god if we are in peace.
Peace is the gentle breeze blowing across my face while working in the garden.
Peace is the laughter of a small child feeling joy in the moment.
Peace is the special connection with a friend walking down the beach listening to each other.
Peace is that connection with source (God, Spirit, Oneness, the Divine) where the in-breath and out-breath meet.
Peace is being in my art studio totally focused in the moment with the creative process.
Well said, Catherine. Matches the spirit of your artwork, too. If you have a showing in the Dallas area, let me know. Thanks again for adding these beautiful words into the peace mix. Jon

Hi Jon,
I love the feeling of peace within myself. It changes my whole perspective on myself, life and other people too.
My crown is called content, a crown that seldom kings enjoy.

Peace is spring in my garden, after it is all planted and I’m just sitting around watching it grow.

Great post Jon! Peace for me is a lack of clutter and confusion. Peace is the early morning before the dawn when all is quiet and nothing is drowning out the thoughts in my own head. Thanks for such a moving post! It was the perfect early morning read!
Thank you, Burl! Appreciate your thoughts on peace as well. Grateful for your time and thoughts. Jon
Hi Jon,
I’m loving your blog and website, my friend!
This was a very moving post. There is nothing like peace. To me, peace is the first rain of the spring tapping on a tin roof. It’s the soft reverberation of an orchestra playing a soothing melody that pierces a welcoming eardrum. Peace is knowing that we are free to love and feel it when it’s returned. It’s the love of a passion and knowing for certain what that passion is. Peace is knowing that we have full control of our thoughts and mind to embrace peace into our lives.
I love peace, and this post embraces every reason I feel the way I do about it. Great work! Thank you for shedding a light on it! 🙂
Impressive! Love your thoughts on peace. Thank you for your comment, and I am really glad I found your blog as well. Grateful for your time and insights. Jon
Oh how I loved this truly beautiful post about peace. I agree with every inspiration of peace you so eloquently shared, and reading each thought brought a sense of peace to my heart.
Peace is awareness of myself. Peace is being mindful of my connection to the world surrounding me. Peace is opening my heart and my mind and my hands. Peace is thought without judgment. Peace is acceptance of life as it is in this moment, and gratitude for all that is.
Thank you so much for sharing your peace!
Chrysta
Thanks, Chrysta! Very well said. Nothing to add… just grateful for your shared thoughts. Jon
Jon,
What a beautiful post!! I am huge promoter of peace. Having peace in ourselves is contagious to many other people. Its a beautiful gift. You touched on so many areas in our life were we can experience peace. I especially love this one, “Peace is being accepted for who we are while be challenged on how we can be better.” There is so much peace there.
What I find peaceful are the moments when I am in the moment and still in mind, even when there is chaos surrounding me. Its beautiful and the body feels so calm. I also find hugging my little girls peaceful, as well as making dinner, taking a walk, looking into the eyes of another person, and getting to the top of a mountain after climbing it-relaxing closer to the sky than I have been in months. There is peace everywhere, as long as we feel it within us. 🙂
Thanks for inspiring peaceful thoughts this morning Jon!!
Thanks, Joanne! Your thoughts on peace are wonderful… I feel the peace in the words. Very grateful. Peace, Jon
